Restoring the Soul

To end several posts delighting in the Word, a poem based on Psalm 19:7-11. 

The Word of God is pure,  
A treasure that will endure. 
It revives the weary soul, 
Making the broken whole. 

God’s statutes are faithful and just, 
In them, we dependently trust. 
They bring joy to the driest heart, 
A beautiful work of eternal art. 

The precepts of the Lord are right, 
Piercing darkness with Illuminating light. 
They enlighten the humble mind, 
Truth and wisdom we find. 

God's commands are clear and true, 
In them we find the path to pursue. 
They correct our wandering ways, 
Keeping us from going astray. 

They are more desirable than gold, 
Sweeter than honey to behold. 
By them, we are eternally blessed, 
In their keeping, we find rest. 

Let us cherish the Word divine, 
On its bread we dine. 
In its pages, we find God's love, 
Pointing us home to heaven above.
