The One Who Never Sleeps (Psalm 121)
On an epic journey
From ruin to redemption
No power to change
No sense of direction.
Every hill hides a danger
I can’t see far ahead
Each step is uncertain
Without help, I am dead.
Where will my help come from
Who can provide such aid
The One who made the hills
The One who never is afraid.
My Lord never slumbers
He has no need for sleep
He is ever working
To keep me from the deep.
He protects me in the day
And gives me sweet rest at night
On Him I wholly depend
In Him I truly delight.
Someday I’ll reach the journey’s end
I know my redemption is sure
Helped by the One who never sleeps
Like Him, finally, I will be pure.
