Summer Internships

Grace Special Needs Ministry exists to minister and provide support to individuals and families with special needs. Our desire is to let every individual know that they are welcomed, cared for, and loved. Throughout the summer, the intern will rotate weekends between campuses initially shadowing, but eventually directing service and leading adults classes. They would also help with the planning and execution of SOAR camp with one of our outreach partners. If you have a heart and desire for those with special needs, then this is the internship for you.

This position will report to our Special Needs Director, Tessa Bontrager.

At Grace, we are passionate about local and global outreach. We do global outreach because we believe God desires for all nations to know Jesus and it is our ambition to share the story of Jesus among unreached people groups. The Outreach Intern will spend 5 weeks stateside support raising, training to go, and then 5 weeks in Kvrdistan with our partners shadowing their work and helping them with any specific projects. They will come back before the last two weeks of the summer to debrief and report all they did overseas. This is for a blood bought follower of Jesus who desires to bring the good news to places that have little hope of hearing it.

This position will report to our Outreach Director, Chase Legere.

We believe in the importance of raising up our next generation to be passionate and on fire for Jesus and that starts in Grace Kids. In this role you will be getting a well rounded view of all of Grace Kids from nursery, to Jr., to elementary. You will be writing curriculum, see how campus support operates in a multi campus church, be hands on during our services and help with our SBO program at all campuses. If you’re excited about seeing kids and families grow in their relationships with Christ and with each other, then this is the internship for you.

This position will report to our Elementary and Worship Content Specialist, Kristen Raney.

Our worship arts ministry at Grace is full of creativity, passion and talent. Through participating in weekend worship planning, this intern will also research music, schedule volunteers, and learn how worship is led at a multi-site campus. They will be spending time with each campus supporting and learning from the worship directors. They will get a well-rounded view of worship while leading at Grace Students, Church Under the Bridge, and weekend services. If connecting to Jesus through music gets you excited, then this is the internship for you.

This position will report to our Worship Arts Director, Luke Lauber.

This intern will help support the weekend worship services at all campuses through creative film elements whether story-driven or topical. This person will naturally stay current with industry and technology trends to create an engaging video experience. They will learn the fundamentals of film through lighting, equipment, and execution and implement a short film by the end of the summer. We are looking for someone who is creative, self sufficient, coachable and a team player.

This position will report to our Film Director, Chris Anderson.

Our Communications team consists of video, graphic design, social media and marketing. We want someone who is current on trends, and wants to learn how to provide and support excellent communications within a dynamic church ministry. They will be rotating weekly between the different departments in Communications helping with film projects, social media posts, graphics for weekend services and doing marketing research and project support. We are looking for someone who has an eye for design, is well organized and has the want to grow and succeed.

This position will report to our Communications Director, Ben Abu Saada.

We are looking for a detail-oriented I.T. guru who wants to learn how a single Campus Support I.T. Team is able to support a multi-campus church, learn how a network position can enable the ministry, and see how the operations team leads and teaches others. This position will be able to help with everyday networking help desk tickets and troubleshooting Wi-Fi and firewall issues. They will also be tracing networking cables throughout the South Overland Park location, label all drops and map them on a software. This will require a lot of collaboration with other ministries and will require you to have entry level networking skills.

This position will report to our I.T. Director, Jordan Vannocker.

Are you looking for a way to bring your skills and passion for the Church together? The Production Team helps bring worship to life and gives our attendees an experience where they will encounter God on a weekly basis. Production is what keeps our services flowing and it is a vital part of Grace Church. This internship is for someone who is passionate about learning how to lead volunteers and learning how to implement all technical aspects for services at a multi-site campus. You will be learning the basics of AVL, create graphics and light shows for various events, and assist with the planning and execution of a weekend worship service.

This position will report to our Worship Production Director, Jonathan Rasch.

We are looking for someone passionate about outreach and is excited about experiencing missions within a local church. You will get the opportunity to plan and lead events, learn how to leverage teams of volunteers, and support outreach within our Grace Students and Grace Kids ministries. You will also design and lead a back to school outreach event for the North Overland Park Community. If shepherding people and being sold out for your community gets you excited, then this is the internship for you.

This position will report to our North Overland Park Outreach Director, Andrew Schumann.

Through weekly teaching with small groups to fun events and serving opportunities, our goal is to equip our youth to love Jesus fully and be a light in their community. We are looking for a hardworking, Jesus-loving individual who is passionate about youth ministry and can provide insight and leadership to Grace Students at our North Overland Park Campus. Not only would you mentor students weekly, you would also plan and execute both middle school, high school summer camps, and summer events but also learn the inner workings of a small church, help with the execution of our fifth and sixth grace ministry on Sunday mornings, and help with curriculum and teaching.

This position will report to our Grace Students Director, Jake Brahm.

Not only would you mentor students weekly, you would also plan and execute both middle school, high school summer camps, and summer events but also learn the inner workings of a small church, help with the execution of our fifth and sixth grace ministry on Sunday mornings, and help with curriculum and teaching. You would also help with the execution of our 20’s/30’s ministry at the Olathe Campus and other Involvement duties as assigned.

This position will report to our Grace Students Resident, Nate Lake.

Grace Kids Elementary consists of 1st - 4th graders and kids of this age are explorers with many questions who also want to be known. We try to write a weekend experience which has a small group time with consistent leaders and a large group that is EPIC. EPIC stands for Experiential, Participatory, Image-rich, and Connected. We value fun, relationships and sharing the Bible in kid language so they can grow to be outward-focused followers of Jesus. This intern will help lead all aspects of elementary including elementary summer camp, weekend execution, help lead the opening team at SBO, prep rooms for weekend services and manage and schedule volunteers. They will be leading classrooms on the weekends and be passionate about the younger generation.

This position will report to our Grace Kids Elementary Director, Kyler Koch.

Junior Internships

Our worship arts ministry at Grace is full of creativity, passion and talent. Through participating in weekend worship planning, they will also research music, and begin to have an understanding of the weekly responsibilities and consistency of leading worship. This will be part-time and they will be rotating at each campus supporting and learning from the worship directors. They will get a well-rounded view of worship by getting weekly training on vocals or an instrument from another staff member while leading at Grace Students and on the weekends. If connecting to Jesus through music gets you excited, then this is the internship for you.

This position will report to our Worship Arts Director, Luke Lauber.

Not only would you mentor students weekly, you would help lead summer camp, but also run, plan and organize a 6th grade Grace Student event to be executed week 10 of the internship. You would also gain insight to the inner workings of a small church, help with the execution of our fifth and sixth grace ministry on Sunday mornings, and help with curriculum and teaching.

Grace Kids Jr. is for ages three to kindergarten and this division consists of a large group worship and story time followed by a small group time with discussion, crafts and games. We want our kids to know who God is and how much He loves them. Our goal is for our kids to understand how bible stories fit together into one big epic story. This is a part-time position and by the end of the summer, they will be able to lead all aspects of Kids Worship Jr., help manage, train and schedule volunteers, have weekly one on one discipleship, and understand how Grace Kids Jr implements the weekend curriculum. They will also get behind the scenes experience of learning how to work at a large ministry event including SBO and SBO Jr.

We are seeking two part-time candidates for this role.

This position will report to our Grace Kids Resident, Kylene Rogers.
