As I read through I Corinthians 9, verse 25 jumps off the page.
25 “Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.”
As of now, the Winter Olympics are just two months away. I am reminded that preparing for an Olympic competition requires discipline and perseverance.
As a believer, we too are running a race that requires training. One of our prizes though is eternal life! We receive that by making Jesus our personal Lord and Savior. The more disciplined and consistent we are at incorporating spiritual exercises into our daily lives (daily reading the Bible, spend time in prayer, volunteering at church, and tithing, etc), the more rewarding and fulfilling our life can be. God will bless us both on this side of heaven and with our ultimate prize of eternal life with Him in heaven.
Are you spending as much if not more time on your spiritual wellness as you are on your health, diet, and other focuses?
