Tim Howey

Senior Pastor

If you had to sum up your responsibilities at Grace in one sentence, what would it be?

I lead, plead, & feed the executive leaders/vision/strategy of the church, plead (pray) like crazy for the church, and feed the church spiritually as the primary weekend teacher.

If you were given one “super-power” what would you want it to be?

The ability to fly… Check that… The ability to fly at the speed of light…invisibly…and not need to breathe…or get too hot or cold…and be bulletproof…with lasers that shoot out of my fingers….

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

“Someday, when you are walking with God and feel overwhelmed with problems or with life, remember– They’re not your problems, they’re GOD’s problems. And it’s not your family, it’s GOD’S family. And it’s not your church, it’s GOD’S church. So just pray and tell God that HE has a problem in HIS life, or HIS family, or HIS church. And ask God to address HIS situation that HE is seeing HIS people experience. Then go back and eat your Wheaties.”

What are you listening to these days?

Our family just got back from vacation after listening to everything from the latest hits, to 70’s music, to Bluegrass, to comedians Jim Gaffigan and Brian Regan, to two audio books — “The Hiding Place” (Corrie Ten Boom’s story), and “Destiny of the Republic: A Tale of Madness, Medicine, and the Murder of a President” (James Garfield’s story).

What is one verse from the Bible by which you try to live your life?

1 Cor 6:19-20 — My life is not my own. I was bought with a price and Jesus owns my life.

What is your favorite movie?

The Two Towers (the 2nd movie in the Lord of the Rings trilogy). And my favorite part of the movie is the “Battle of the Hornburg.” And my favorite moment in the movie is when Aragorn and King Theoden ride out to meet their enemies instead of curling up into the fetal position because they face certain annihilation. And a white horse rider arrives with an army to save the day.
