IF YOU HAD TO SUM UP YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AT GRACE IN ONE SENTENCE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I provide vision and oversight for our Olathe Campus.
IF YOU WERE GIVEN ONE “SUPER-POWER” WHAT WOULD YOU WANT IT TO BE?
Time Travel…but only if I could remain clothed in the process. Why do time travelers in the movies have such difficulty making it through the time/space continuum with their clothes on?
WHAT IS THE BEST ADVICE YOU HAVE EVER BEEN GIVEN?
Other than “don’t eat the yellow snow”, I would have to go with: “Keep the main things, the main things.” This variation on Jesus’ words from Mathew 6 has kept me focused on what’s truly important in life.
WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO THESE DAYS?
Today: during my time with the Lord it was Jesus Culture/Citizens, I took a walk and listened to a message from Andy Stanley, then it was TFK/Foo Fighters/Twelve Stones at the gym, Henry Cloud on my drive to and from work, and Vivaldi/Miles Davis while reading during some downtime.
WHAT IS ONE VERSE FROM THE BIBLE BY WHICH YOU TRY TO LIVE YOUR LIFE?
Wow, that’s a tough one… it changes with the season of life I am in. I would have to say that my current favorite is Psalms 16:11 – “You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” I am trying to live my life being present with the Lord from moment to moment.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE?
Hmm… I love all kinds of movies, it’s hard to pick a favorite. So, I will go with the movies I find myself quoting the most: Nacho Libre, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Dumb and Dumber. I know… they’re not exactly the height of sophistication, but they are filled with quotes that seem to fit most every life situation.
