Read Exodus 12
Exodus 12 offers us many themes: Passover, Redemption, Worship, Faith, and the list goes on. My favorite though comes from a lesson my grandmother would share. When we were children, she would always point out the lamb in verses 3-5…
In verse 3 Moses tells the people to take a lamb. In verse 4, he tells them to take the lamb. And in verse 5, he tells them to take your lamb. First, we must understand who Jesus is. Then we must accept Him as our Savior and our Lord. Finally, we must live as sons and daughters of our King.
Verses 26-28 tell us that the people of Israel “bowed their heads and worshiped… then went away and did; just as the Lord had commanded.” It is not enough to acknowledge that Jesus is God. We must act on our belief.
As my grandmother would say, “He the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob, and He is my God!”
